In 1946, a vegetable patch on the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and
Kaimuki Avenue was purchased to develop Market City Shopping Center.
In 1948 we began serving Kaimuki and featured the first Foodland Super
Market. Since then, we have grown to over 25 tenants, including anchors
Fun Factory and Ben Franklin Crafts. Over the
years we have served your families with a wide variety of products
and services, and we continue to grow to better serve you.

scholarships awarded annually to worthy students in the Kaimuki/Kapahulu
communities.

holds various special events during the year. These events serve several
purposes including:
- Promoting good community relations,
- Helping to enhance business for tenants,
therefore promoting more revenue to the shopping
center.
